TERP Team to Action: Part II

Inside CTEH recently introduced you to our Toxicology Emergency Response Program (TERP), which is available 24/7/365 to respond to chemical releases in North America. Due to popular demand, we’re back with more on TERP including some of your most frequently asked questions. Check them out below:

What’s the purpose of TERP?

TERP was initially created to help improve the efficiency of accidental release responses. It deploys a team of environmental scientists, data managers and Ph.D. toxicologists to incident sites—allowing CTEH to more swiftly perform monitoring and disseminate data.

How many CTEH employees are on the TERP team?

There are over 80 full-time employees on CTEH’s TERP team throughout North America.

How many emergencies has TERP responded to since it was created?

The TERP team has responded to more than 3,000 chemical emergencies during its nearly 20-year history.

Which CTEH offices does the TERP team mobilize from?

Although they can be deployed from any location, the TERP team often mobilizes from CTEH’s offices in North Little Rock and Houston.
