CTEH® welcomes Hank Garcia

CTEH® is excited to announce Hank Garcia has joined the CTEH® team.  He is a senior consultant offering a full-range of emergency response and crisis management expertise. Mr. Garcia is a bilingual (English/Spanish) chemical engineer graduate of Manhattan College. His background includes private consulting and 22 years with ExxonMobil serving in a variety of positions within the Public Affairs and in Emergency Preparedness and Response teams, including assignments in Europe, Latin America, and a special project in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Garcia has experience designing and running major emergency response exercises in Belgium, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Brazil, Barbados, Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Colombia.  In fact, he was responsible for first ExxonMobil corporate emergency response exercise in 2000 following the merger between Exxon and Mobil.  The exercise involved country and regional offices in Asia Pacific, as well as Chemical, Downstream, and Corporate headquarters in the U.S.

Mr. Garcia has extensive experience in development and implementation of crisis management systems, oil spill response plans, and hurricane plans, at facility, country, and corporate levels. That experience has enriched his capabilities in responses to numerous incidents and an understanding of the management challenges of implementing ICS in areas outside the U.S. He has shared lessons learned in papers at International Oil Spill Conferences and the Clean Gulf and Clean Pacific conferences.

Mr. Garcia enjoys volunteering with Child Advocates in Houston, playing the guitar (all kinds of music, but mostly bluegrass, blues, folk, and rock), camping and hiking with his wife and grandson, lively conversations with his son, Dan, and daughter, Lindy, reading non-fiction, scfi, and mysteries, and good movies. Hank also enjoys learning new things and meeting new challenges.
