CARLSBAD, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2017) - The Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health, LLC (CTEH®) is continuing to build its national presence with the addition of a new Southern California office. Dr. Dallas Cowan, CIH, DABT of the San Diego area, has been hired to lead the new location.
“We are excited to expand our operations and rapid-response capabilities on the West Coast with the opening of this new Southern California office,” said Cory Davis, CTEH® partner and principal consultant. “With his extensive experience, I know Dr. Cowan will help provide our clients with even stronger occupational toxicology, industrial hygiene, exposure and human health risk assessment services.”
Prior to joining CTEH®, Dr. Cowan provided technical and litigation support on projects involving exposure and human health risk assessment of chemicals in occupational, environmental and consumer product settings. Throughout his career, he has published more than 25 abstracts, book chapters, and peer-reviewed papers. Some of his most recent research includes investigating best practices for determining ante- and post-mortem blood alcohol concentrations through modeling, collecting and characterizing historical airborne asbestos concentrations across time and industry, as well as the evaluation of reported fatality data of worker respiratory protection in the United States.
Cowan is a board-certified toxicologist (DABT), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and HAZWOPER certified. He earned his Ph.D. in Toxicology from Purdue University, M.S. in Industrial Hygiene from San Diego State University and B.S. in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
