Mike Niles Supports DOI Youth Initiative at #CleanGulf2016

From presenting papers to leading workshops, CTEH had a great week at the 26th Annual Clean Gulf Conference & Exhibition in Tampa, Florida. We’ve even had the opportunity to meet with some of our nation’s future scientific leaders. On Thursday, Mike Niles, a consultant with our Houston office, partnered with the Bureau of Safety and Environment Enforcement’s Oil Spill Preparedness Division as part of the U.S. Department of Interior’s Youth Initiative. During the meeting, Mike spoke with students and educators from local middle schools and high schools about CTEH’s work in oil spill planning, preparedness and response.

CTEH also had several special elementary school visitors stop by our booth in the exhibit hall. Anton Avguchenko, CTEH Senior Data Project Manager, gave them a quick lessons on air monitoring while demonstrating how we uniquely capture the data.
