LITTLE ROCK, AR – November 2, 2011 – Center for Toxicology & Environmental Health (CTEH®) formally announced Norman Smith as the company’s Corporate Health and Safety Officer. In this role, Norman will lead CTEH®’s health and safety initiatives, coordinate with clients to meet their safety expectations and act as an internal safety facilitator. By reporting directly to the CTEH® CEO and President, this position has direct line of sight into all business lines, clear authority within the company, and reinforces a dedication to a culture of safety in our growing organization.
Mr. Smith is a veteran of management and his technical experience in occupational health and safety includes: senior leadership responsibility, professional consulting services, field operations management, emergency response, environmental remediation, crisis management, health and safety training and commercial contracting. His extensive hands-on experience includes over 400 major chemical emergency responses across the US, Canada and Mexico. Additionally, Norman has responded as a site safety officer to numerous incidents including rail emergencies involving hazardous material spills, major oil spills, wildland fires, chemical and manufacturing plant explosions, fires, origin and cause investigations, and widespread natural disasters resulting from floods, tornadoes and hurricanes.
